Incorporating Student Technology into the Classroom FLC

This community of faculty met during AY 2015-16 and explored various ways in which instructors can harness the power of student technology in their classrooms. Participants explored ways to incorporate students’ devices into lessons and lectures so that students can actively engage using technology they already have access to. The primary goal was for participants to find ways to turn potential distractions into classroom strengths. Participants developed, implemented, and planned to assess new lessons (or modified existing lessons) that make specific use of student technology to support the lesson’s content objective. These lesson plans include strategies for assessing and evaluating how using this technology specifically impacts student learning.
